Here is the loop that hooks you: pick a fight, chip away at the wild Dynamon with action cards and power-ups, then catch it once it is worn down. Every capture adds another fighter to your team, so your next 1v1 battle hits harder than the last.

Your backpack fills up as you explore, and those items matter mid-battle, not just for show. Between the new areas, the special attacks and the growing roster, this is a proper excuse to sink an afternoon into a monster game.
