War V: Path of the Survivor!

A weapon inspection button sounds like a small thing until you're staring down a modded rifle in War V: Path of the Survivor!, checking every attachment before the next horde hits. That's the level of detail this story-driven first-person shooter runs on.

Humanity got hit by a man-made virus and most people turned into zombies - the usual apocalypse setup, except here you're not just running from it. You join a paramilitary group, follow an actual storyline, and go shopping between fights: buy weapons, bolt on different modules, and head back out to face everything from basic shamblers to full mutants.

The hook is that antidote everyone keeps whispering about. Maybe you're the one who finds it. Maybe you just die trying, upgraded rifle in hand, which is honestly the more likely outcome given how the hordes stack up.
