Blade & Bedlam
Description
The moment a shield-carrying enemy corners you between two spear throwers, that's when Blade & Bedlam stops being casual. You've got your weapon swinging with the mouse and a dodge roll on Shift, but you need both working together or the wave eats you alive.
This is a top-down, physics-based medieval melee fighter, so nothing about a swing feels scripted - you're actually aiming your blade, actually timing your block against incoming projectiles. Between rounds you hit the shop to gear up your knight, and every purchase matters more the deeper you get, because the waves don't get gentler.
Survival is the whole game: dodge, kill fast, spend smart, repeat. Special items show up to give you an edge against tougher foes, and the run builds toward the bosses waiting at the end of the chaos. Landing that killing blow after three rounds of near-misses is the payoff.
If you're into Sword Games with real stakes, or you just want Combat Games that reward footwork over button-mashing, this one's worth the ten minutes. Fans of Action games built around waves and upgrades will feel right at home.
How to Play
Survive as many waves of enemies as you can, buying upgrades between rounds and eventually taking down the bosses. Move with W A S D, swing your weapon with the mouse, and dodge roll with right click or Shift.
Block incoming projectiles instead of eating them, and use the shop between waves to upgrade your knight before the next round starts. Watch for special items during runs - they can turn a losing fight around.
Don't stand still. Dodge rolling out of a swarm buys you the second you need to counterattack instead of getting boxed in.
