Geometry Open World
Description
Five minutes into Geometry Open World and you've already popped your shield to dodge a hit, fired back with your cannons, and rolled into the next stretch of terrain looking for the next fight. That's the loop here: move, defend, shoot, repeat, until a boss shows up and asks for something better than button-mashing.
This is a 2D action game where you steer a vessel across rough terrain, facing down regular foes before the real test arrives in the form of tough bosses. Upgrades and skills are how you tip the odds back in your favor, so every run is partly about combat and partly about deciding what to spend on next.
It runs free in the browser on Android, iOS, and desktop, no install required, which makes it an easy pick if you're already browsing Action games for something you can jump into cold. Fans of Deadly Descent will recognize the same appeal of pushing forward despite whatever's thrown at you.
If you've got Unity games bookmarked, this is one more for the list - built as one of the Unity Games Online games you can fire up without waiting on a download.
How to Play
Get your vessel through hostile terrain, take down enemies along the way, and beat the bosses waiting at the end of each stretch.
Use A or the left arrow key to move left, D or the right arrow key to move right. Press Q to raise your shield when the incoming fire gets heavy, and E to fire your cannons back. Use the left mouse button to interact with the in-game UI, including your upgrades and skills.
Spend on upgrades and skills whenever you get the chance - bosses hit harder than regular foes, and a well-timed shield block is often the difference between surviving a fight and restarting it.
