Description

Thirteen rounds, five dice, and one nagging question after every roll: keep this or chase something bigger? That's Yatzy in a nutshell, and it's the reason you tell yourself "one more round" long after you meant to stop.

You get three rolls per turn to build the combination you want - a Full House, a Straight, or if the dice truly love you, a Yatzy itself. Every category on the scorecard can only be used once, so a great roll in the wrong moment still stings a little. That tension between banking safe points and gambling on the big score is what keeps this classic sharp after decades.

It plays straight in your browser on desktop, Android or iOS, no download needed, and it's built for going head to head with someone else who thinks they've got better luck than you. If you like your fun a little more competitive, it sits comfortably alongside other Multiplayer games and the site's Competitive Games.

Casual enough for a coffee break, sharp enough to argue over - Yatzy earns its spot among Casual Games without asking much of you beyond good dice sense.

How to Play

Score the highest total across 13 rounds by rolling five dice and filling in the best combinations you can. Roll, then choose which dice to keep and which to re-roll, up to three times per turn.

Once you're happy with your roll, lock it into a scoring category - each one can only be used once, so plan ahead. The scorecard splits into an upper section for matching numbers and a lower section for combos like Full House or Straight.

Tip: don't burn your best categories early. Sometimes the smarter move is taking a mediocre score now to save a rare combo for a roll that actually earns it.
