Magic Tiles 3
Description
White tiles are the enemy here. One stray tap on a white tile and your run's over, which is exactly the kind of pressure that makes Magic Tiles 3 so weirdly gripping - you're not just playing a song, you're threading a needle through it at speed.
The setup is simple: tiles fall down the screen in sync with the music, and you tap the black ones to the beat while dodging the white ones. With a library of 45,000+ songs spanning pop, EDM, hip-hop and more, there's always another track to test your reflexes against. It plays like a rhythm game crossed with a piano, which is basically the whole pitch.
It runs straight in your browser on desktop or mobile, free, no download. If you want something that trains fast fingers rather than fast reflexes on a track, it sits nicely alongside other Music games and the reaction-heavy stuff you'll find in Arcade games.
How to Play
Tap the black tiles as they scroll down the screen, in time with the music, while avoiding the white ones. Miss a black tile or hit a white one and your run ends, so accuracy matters more than speed alone.
Tiles move across 4 lanes, and different tile types call for different actions as you go. Controls are just taps on screen or clicks with your mouse - nothing more complex than that.
Start with a song you know well. Familiar melodies make it much easier to predict where the next tile is landing.
