Win a battle, unlock the next era, and suddenly you want to see what army it hands you. That's the loop in Age of Heroes, and it's a sneaky one. You summon warriors and heroes, send them marching, and aim to destroy the enemy's towers before they get yours.

The fun is in the time travel. You start with Stone Age village defense, move on to Middle Ages knights, sieges and castle battles, and keep going toward futuristic warfare. Each era brings a new army, new battles and new legendary heroes, so your lineup never gets stale.

It mixes RPG-style hero development with tower defense, so you're always weighing who to send out and which tower to protect. If you like Strategy games or anything in the Heroes Games corner, this one fits right in. If you'd rather stay on the base-building side, My Army Base is a good next stop.
