A Magical Twist on a Classic: Play Cut the Rope: Magic in Your Browser!
February 4, 2026
If you thought you mastered the physics of rope-cutting in the original game, think again. Cut the Rope: Magic takes the beloved puzzle formula and sprinkles it with fairy dust, introducing a whole new layer of strategy that will challenge your brain and tickle your funny bone.
Originally a smash-hit mobile app, this puzzle gem is now fully playable in HTML5. That means you can join Om Nom’s mystical adventure directly in your web browser—no downloads, no app stores, just pure magical fun.
Why This Sequel is Spellbinding
The evil Spider Wizard has stolen all the candy, and it’s up to you to get it back! While the goal remains the same—feed the candy to Om Nom—the gameplay has evolved.
In Cut the Rope: Magic, cutting ropes is just the beginning. You must now wield the power of transformation. With a simple click, you can shapeshift Om Nom into different magical creatures to navigate tricky levels, avoid traps, and defeat the Spider Wizard.
Master the Shapeshifting Forms
To beat the game, you need to know when and how to use Om Nom’s new forms. Here is your grimoire of transformations:
🐥 The Bird Form: Gravity getting you down? Transform Om Nom into a bird to fly up and hover above obstacles or catch a falling candy.
👶 The Baby Form: Sometimes, you need to be tiny! The Baby form shrinks Om Nom, allowing him to squeeze through tight spaces and fall through narrow gaps.
🐟 The Fish Form: Dive deep! When the candy is underwater, transform into a fish to swim effortlessly toward your treat.
🐭 The Mouse Form: Follow your nose! The Mouse form gives Om Nom a heightened sense of smell, making him scurry automatically toward the candy's location.
👻 The Spirit Form: Need to make a great escape? The Spirit form lets the candy pass right through Om Nom without him eating it (useful for positioning), or lets Om Nom pass through solid objects!
Pro Tip: Many levels require you to switch back and forth between forms in mid-air. Timing is everything!

Here is the breakdown of the 3-Star locations and solutions for the first chapter of Cut the Rope: Magic (Sky Castle).
In this chapter, the primary "hidden" aspect is knowing when to use the Bird Form to reach stars that seem out of reach.
Chapter 1: Sky Castle (Levels 1–15)

Key Ability: Bird Form (Float above obstacles)
Level 1
Star Locations: All three are in a straight line below the candy.
Solution: Simply cut the rope. Gravity does the rest.
Level 2 (New Ability: Bird Form)
Star Locations: High up in the air.
Solution: Cut the rope. As the candy falls towards the stars, tap the Transform Button to turn Om Nom into a bird. He will hover and collect the stars. Tap again to drop him (or the candy) into his mouth.
Level 3
Star Locations: One star is behind a wood block; others are in the open.
Solution: Transform Om Nom into a bird immediately to float up and collect the high star. Drop down (transform back) to catch the swinging candy, then cut the rope to swing into the remaining stars.
Level 4
Star Locations: Spread out in an arc.
Solution: This level teaches you to toggle forms. Cut the rope so the candy swings. Transform into a bird to catch the candy mid-air and float over the wooden obstacle to grab the top star. Drop down on the other side to eat the candy.
Level 5
Star Locations: Two on the left, one on the far right.
Solution: Use the Air Puffer. Squeeze the puffer to blow the candy into the stars on the left. Then, cut the rope and transform into a bird to float over to the right side star.
Level 6
Hidden Difficulty: The bottom star is dangerously close to the void.
Solution: Cut the rope. Let the candy fall and collect the first two stars. Just as it grabs the third (bottom) star, quickly transform into a bird to stop the fall before you hit the bottom of the screen. Float back up to Om Nom.
Level 7
Star Locations: In a vertical line blocked by horizontal beams.
Solution: Timing is key. Cut the rope. Transform into a bird to stop the candy between the beams. Transform back to let it fall to the next section. Repeat this "Stop-and-Go" motion to grab all stars without hitting the spikes.
Level 8
Star Locations: Rotating around a central point.
Solution: Wait for the stars to align with the candy's potential swing path. Use the air puffer to push the candy into the stars when the gap in the rotating wheel is open.
Level 9
Hidden Difficulty: The stars are protected by a magical barrier.
Solution: You must use the bird form to push the wooden block into the barrier to disable it. Once the barrier is down, swing the candy to collect the stars.
Level 10
Star Locations: High corners.
Solution: This level introduces the "automatic" slider. Attach the candy to the slider. As it moves, transform into a bird to lift the slider up at the peak of the track to grab the high stars.
Level 11–14 (Advanced Bird Tactics)
Tip: These levels require Momentum. You often need to swing the candy, transform into a bird to carry that momentum horizontally, and then drop (transform back) to snag a star hidden in a nook or cranny.
Level 12 Specific: Watch out for the spider! You must be faster than him. Use the bird form to hover just out of his reach while grabbing the stars.
Level 15 (Boss Level: The Tiny Wizard)
The Challenge: The Spider Wizard will try to steal the candy.
Solution:
Cut the rope to drop the candy.
Use the air puffer to push the candy away from the Wizard.
Transform into a bird to lift the candy over the Wizard's head.
Drop the candy directly onto Om Nom while collecting the final star in the descent.
General Tips for 3 Stars
The "Double Tap": Often, you need to transform into a bird and immediately transform back to create a "hop" effect. This is essential for grabbing stars that are just slightly out of reach of a swinging rope.
Physics Check: If a star is directly below a rope, cutting the rope is usually the answer. If it is above, you almost always need the Bird form.
Restarting is Fast: If you miss a star, hit the restart button immediately. There is no penalty for retrying!
Here is the 3-Star solution guide for Chapter 2: Mushroom Land in Cut the Rope: Magic.
In this chapter, things get adorable (and tricky). The key mechanic is the Baby Form.
Chapter 2: Mushroom Land (Levels 1–16)

Key Ability: Baby Form (Shrink in size)
The Golden Rule of this Chapter: Smaller means lighter. When Om Nom is a baby, air fans push him further, bubbles lift him faster, and he bounces higher on mushrooms!
Level 1
The Lesson: Introduces the shrinking mechanic.
Solution: Cut the rope. As the candy swings towards the wooden platform, transform Om Nom into a Baby. He will shrink and fall through the gap in the wood to catch the candy below.
Level 2
Star Locations: Two are under the platform, one is above.
Solution: Transform into a Baby immediately to fall through the gap and collect the bottom stars. Transform back into Big Om Nom to catch the candy (and to stop falling further if there's a void).
Level 3
Mechanic: Air Fans.
Solution: Cut the rope. When the candy is in front of the air puffer, transform into a Baby. Because he is lighter, the air will push him much further to reach the far stars. Transform back to drop down.
Level 4
Star Locations: Inside small wooden crates.
Solution: Only Baby Om Nom can fit inside the crates. Time your transformation to squeeze inside the box, grab the star, and then cut the rope or transform back to get out.
Level 5
Mechanic: Magic Hats (Portals).
Solution: The hats act as teleporters. Often, you need to be small (Baby) to enter a small hat, or big to enter a large one. To get 3 stars, you often need to enter the "wrong" hat first (as a Baby) to find a hidden star before going to the "correct" hat.
Level 8
Mechanic: Bouncy Mushrooms.
Solution: Drop the candy onto the mushroom. Transform into a Baby right before impact. The lighter weight makes the candy/Om Nom bounce much higher, reaching the stars at the very top of the screen.
Level 10
Hidden Difficulty: The "seesaw" plank.
Solution: This is a weight puzzle. Use Big Om Nom to weigh down one side of the plank. Then, quickly transform into a Baby to make that side light, causing the other side (with the candy) to launch upward.
Level 12
Star Locations: Behind a spinning blade.
Solution: Timing is crucial. Transform into a Baby to squeeze under the blade when it is at its highest point. Do not transform back until you are safely on the other side!
Level 14
Mechanic: The Water Bubble.
Solution: Baby Om Nom floats inside small bubbles that Big Om Nom would pop. Enter the bubble as a Baby to float up to the ceiling stars. Pop the bubble to drop into Big Om Nom's mouth.
Level 16 (Boss Level: The Spider Wizard Returns)
The Challenge: The Wizard tries to steal the candy with a telekinesis spell.
Solution:
The level has "safe zones" (small tunnels) that are too small for the Wizard's magic to reach.
Cut the rope and immediately transform into a Baby so the candy fits into the small tunnel.
Wait for the Wizard to finish his attack.
Exit the tunnel, grab the star, and quickly re-enter the next small tunnel.
Repeat until you reach Om Nom.
General Tips for Mushroom Land
Conservation of Momentum: When you transform from Big to Small while swinging, you keep your speed but lose mass. This often makes you swing in a wider arc.
The "Drop-Through": Many stars are located directly below Om Nom. If you see a thin floor, try turning into a Baby to see if you can fall right through it!
Here is the 3-Star solution guide for Chapter 3: The Magic Forest in Cut the Rope: Magic.
In this chapter, the gameplay shifts from "physics" to "AI manipulation." You are now controlling a tiny, hungry critter!
Chapter 3: The Magic Forest (Levels 1–22)

Key Ability: Mouse Form (Senses Candy)
The Golden Rule of this Chapter: The Mouse always moves toward the candy. Think of the candy as a magnet and the Mouse as a piece of metal. You don't control the Mouse directly; you control him by moving the candy!
Level 1
The Lesson: Introduces the tracking mechanic.
Solution: The Mouse will automatically run left or right depending on where the candy is swinging. Cut the rope when the candy is near the stars to make the Mouse run through them.
Level 3
Mechanic: Climbing Walls.
Solution: Unlike other forms, the Mouse can climb vertical wooden surfaces. Keep the candy suspended above the Mouse. He will scurry up the wall to try and reach it, collecting any stars along the vertical path.
Level 5
Mechanic: The Blocking Blocks.
Solution: There are stone blocks blocking the path. You must lure the Mouse onto a button or switch to move the blocks. Move the candy to the far left to make the Mouse run left (hitting the switch), then move the candy right to lead him to the exit.
Level 7
Hidden Difficulty: The "Worm" Tunnels.
Solution: The Mouse can travel through hollow logs. To get 3 stars, you often need to lure the Mouse into a log, wait for him to pop out the other side to grab a star, and then quickly lure him back through the log to reach the candy.
Level 10
Mechanic: Avoid the Water.
Solution: Mice can't swim! If the Mouse touches water, you lose. You must use the candy to guide him across floating leaves or bridges. Do not cut the rope until he is safely across the water hazard.
Level 12
Star Locations: Suspended in mid-air gaps.
Solution: This requires a "Leap of Faith." The Mouse will not jump on his own. You must use a Spring/Bouncer. Lure the Mouse onto the spring, then cut the rope so the candy falls. The Mouse will launch off the spring to catch the candy in mid-air.
Level 15
Mechanic: The Moving Slider.
Solution: The candy is on a slider. Move the slider slowly. If you move it too fast, the Mouse might get left behind or run into a spike. Keep the Mouse directly underneath the candy at all times.
Level 18
Hidden Difficulty: The Ghost.
Solution: Ghosts mimic your movements or patrol an area. You need to use the Mouse's small size to hide under platforms where the Ghost cannot reach, then dash out when the coast is clear.
Level 22 (Boss Level: The Spider Wizard's Trap)
The Challenge: The Wizard creates a barrier that slowly closes in.
Solution:
Speed is everything. The Mouse moves faster than Om Nom.
Transform into the Mouse immediately.
Swing the candy aggressively to the far side of the screen.
The Mouse will sprint past the Wizard's closing barriers.
Once the Mouse is safe, cut the rope to feed him.
General Tips for The Magic Forest
The "Nose" Knows: Watch the Mouse’s nose. It always points at the candy. If you are unsure which way he will run, look at his nose.
Safety First: The Mouse is vulnerable. He can be crushed by blocks or eaten by spiders. Always check the path before you lure him out of a safe spot.
Transform to Stop: If the Mouse is running towards a danger (like a spike) and you can't move the candy fast enough, Transform back into Om Nom. Om Nom doesn't move automatically, so he will stop instantly in his tracks (acting as a brake).
Here is the 3-Star solution guide for Chapter 4: Mystery Cavern in Cut the Rope: Magic.
Get your snorkel ready! In this chapter, the physics flip upside down. Instead of dealing with gravity in the air, you are dealing with buoyancy in the water.
Chapter 4: Mystery Cavern (Levels 1–22)

Key Ability: Fish Form (Dive & Swim)
The Golden Rule of this Chapter: Big Om Nom Floats; Fish Om Nom Sinks.
Normal Form: Acts like a buoy. He will naturally float up to the surface.
Fish Form: Acts like a weight. He will swim downwards toward the candy.
Level 1
The Lesson: Buoyancy control.
Solution: The candy is at the bottom. Transform into a Fish to swim down and get the stars deep underwater. If you miss one, transform back to Normal to float up, then turn into a Fish again to dive back down.
Level 3
Mechanic: Wooden Logs.
Solution: Logs float. To get a star blocked by a log, transform into a Fish and swim under the log. Then, transform back to Normal. The buoyancy of Big Om Nom will push the log upwards, clearing the path or smashing a barrier above.
Level 6
Mechanic: Underwater Currents.
Solution: You will see water jets pushing in a specific direction.
To ride the current: Transform into a Fish so you are small enough to be pushed by the stream.
To avoid the current: Transform into Normal Om Nom to float above the stream's influence.
Level 8
Star Locations: Hidden in the seaweed.
Solution: Seaweed slows you down but doesn't hurt you. Dive as a Fish into the seaweed to grab the star. Be careful not to stay too long if there is a timed element or a nearby spike!
Level 11
Mechanic: The Hook.
Solution: The candy is attached to a metal hook. The hook sinks.
To go down: Cut the rope holding the hook.
To go up: Catch the hook with Big Om Nom (who floats). You act as a life preserver dragging the heavy candy to the surface.
Level 14
Hidden Difficulty: The Ice.
Solution: Ice blocks float at the surface. You often need to bump the ice from below. Dive deep as a Fish, then quickly transform to Normal. The upward momentum will let you smash through the ice to reach a star trapped inside or above it.
Level 18
Mechanic: Electro-Eels.
Solution: These enemies patrol left and right. They are deadly. You must time your dives. Wait for the eel to pass, dive quickly as a Fish to grab the star, and transform back immediately to float up to safety before the eel returns.
Level 22 (Boss Level: The Deep Sea Wizard)
The Challenge: The Wizard tries to crush you with rocks/anchors.
Solution:
The Wizard drops heavy objects from above.
Use the Fish Form to quickly dive to the bottom corners to avoid the falling debris.
Once the debris settles, transform to Normal to float up through the gaps.
Grab the candy while it is floating between the debris layers.
General Tips for Mystery Cavern
The "Yo-Yo" Technique: You can stay in one spot underwater by rapidly tapping the transform button. You will sink a bit (Fish), then float a bit (Normal), effectively hovering in place to wait for a moving star to come to you.
Momentum still applies: If you dive deep as a Fish and then transform, you will shoot up to the surface much faster than if you just started floating from a standstill. Use this "super jump" to launch out of the water and catch stars high in the air!
Here is the 3-Star solution guide for Chapter 5: Ancient Library in Cut the Rope: Magic.
Shhh! We are in the library. This chapter requires brainpower over reflexes. The physics get spooky here with the Spirit Form.
Chapter 5: Ancient Library (Levels 1–22)

Key Ability: Spirit Form (Phasing / Ghost)
The Golden Rule of this Chapter: Ghosts don't eat. When Om Nom is in Spirit Form, he is translucent. The candy (and other physical objects) will pass right through him.
Why do this? To let the candy swing through Om Nom to grab a star behind him, or to let the candy fall past him to a safer spot. You must turn solid (Normal Form) at the exact moment you want to eat!
Level 1
The Lesson: "The Pass-Through."
Solution: The stars are located behind Om Nom. Cut the rope so the candy swings towards him. Transform into a Spirit. The candy will swing right through his body, collecting the stars behind him. As the candy swings back towards him, transform to Normal to catch it.
Level 3
Mechanic: The Purple Ghost Blocks.
Solution: You will see purple, translucent blocks.
Normal Om Nom: Bumps into them (they are solid walls).
Spirit Om Nom: Passes right through them.
Strategy: Transform into a Spirit to walk/fall through a purple wall to reach the star, then turn Normal to wait for the candy.
Level 6
Mechanic: The Magical Vacuum.
Solution: Vacuums suck the candy towards them. Sometimes the vacuum is too strong and pulls the candy into a trap.
Trick: If Om Nom is in Spirit Form, he might not block the airflow, or he might allow the candy to pass through him into the vacuum's path. (Specific puzzle: Position Om Nom between the vacuum and the candy. Turn Solid to block the suction; turn Spirit to let the suction pull the candy).
Level 9
Star Locations: Inside a small box where Om Nom is sitting.
Solution: Om Nom is trapping the star inside the box with his body. Transform into a Spirit. The star (or the physics object holding it) will pass through him. Collect the star, then turn solid again.
Level 12
Hidden Difficulty: The Spider.
Solution: The Spider crawls along the rope towards the candy.
Strategy: Drop the candy so it falls through Spirit Om Nom to a lower rope. The Spider on the top rope is now stranded and can't reach the candy.
Level 15
Mechanic: Bouncing off Om Nom.
Solution: Sometimes you need Om Nom to act as a wall.
The candy swings and needs to bounce off Om Nom's head to hit a star. Keep him Normal (Solid).
Then, on the return swing, you need the candy to go past him. Turn him Spirit (Ghost).
Level 18
The "Bait and Switch":
Solution: There are two Om Nom locations (using magic hats/portals). You need to move the candy to the location where it looks like he will eat it, but use Spirit form to let it pass through into a teleporter to reach the other side of the level where the final star is.
Level 22 (Boss Level: The Librarian Wizard)
The Challenge: The Wizard uses telekinesis to throw books and block your path.
Solution:
The Wizard will create barriers or throw objects.
Use the Spirit Form to hide inside "Ghost Blocks" where the books cannot hit you.
Wait for the Wizard to tire out or for his barrier to drop.
Turn Solid to bounce the candy off your head and into the collection zone.
General Tips for Ancient Library
Don't Panic: This form is the safest. If a heavy rock is falling on Om Nom's head, turn into a Spirit! The rock will fall harmlessly through him (usually).
The "Double Catch": A common trick is to have the candy on a long rope. Swing it through Spirit Om Nom to get momentum, then cut the rope so it flies up and around a pivot point, coming back to Om Nom from the other side.
Check the Background: Sometimes the background art hints at where "Ghost" objects are. If a wall looks shimmery or purple, try walking through it!
Here is the 3-Star solution guide for the Bonus Chapters: Stone Age & Disco Era in Cut the Rope: Magic.
These levels are designed to be much harder and often require you to combine everything you have learned so far!
Bonus Chapter 1: Stone Age (Levels 1–15)

Theme: Prehistoric Puzzles & Combinations
The Challenge: In the Stone Age, you don't just get one form. You often have to switch between multiple forms in a single level (e.g., Bird AND Baby).
Level 1
Forms Available: Bird & Baby.
Solution:
Start as Baby to fall through the narrow gap in the rocks.
Mid-fall, transform into a Bird to hover and catch the floating star.
Drop down to Om Nom.
Level 3
Mechanic: The Stone Wheels.
Solution: Heavy stone wheels roll when pushed.
Use Normal Om Nom to push the wheel (he is strong enough).
Use Mouse Form to scurry under the wheel as it rolls.
Tip: Push the wheel to smash the glass barrier protecting the star, then grab the candy.
Level 6
Mechanic: The Lava.
Solution: Lava destroys the candy instantly.
Use the Bird Form to carry the candy over the lava pits.
Be careful not to drop it until you are completely clear of the heat bubbles!
Level 10
Star Locations: Trapped in ice blocks above lava.
Solution:
Use Bird Form to hold the candy near the lava (but not in it!) to melt the ice.
Once the ice melts and the star is collected, quickly fly up to safety before the candy burns.
Level 15 (Boss Level: The Caveman Wizard)
The Challenge: The Wizard throws giant bones and rocks.
Solution:
The Wizard is aggressive. You need to be fast.
Use Baby Form to hide in small cracks in the floor when he throws high objects.
Use Bird Form to fly high when he rolls rocks along the ground.
Navigate the candy to the "Trigger" zone to drop a boulder on the Wizard's head (cartoon style!).
Bonus Chapter 2: Disco Era (Levels 1–15)

Theme: Lasers, Mirrors & Rhythm
The Challenge: This is the hardest chapter. It introduces Lasers and Mirrors.
Level 1
Mechanic: Lasers.
Solution: If the candy touches a red laser, it vaporizes.
Spirit Form is key here! While Spirit Om Nom can let objects pass through him, he cannot pass through lasers unscathed.
Actually, the trick is usually to use Mouse Form to crawl under laser beams or Bird Form to fly over them.
Level 4
Mechanic: Mirrors & Light Beams.
Solution: You need to deflect light to hit sensors.
The candy often has a reflective surface in this chapter.
Dangle the candy in the light beam. Swing it to angle the reflection so it hits the "Star Sensor." When the sensor lights up, the star is collected.
Level 8
Star Locations: Inside the Disco Ball.
Solution: The Disco Ball opens and closes to the beat of the music (or a timer).
Time your rope cut exactly when the ball opens.
Use Fish Form if the ball is underwater (some disco levels are aquariums!) to dart inside quickly.
Level 12
Mechanic: The Teleporting Dance Floor.
Solution:
Colored tiles on the floor teleport the candy/Om Nom.
Red goes to Red, Blue goes to Blue.
You often need to enter the Red portal as a Baby (to keep momentum) but exit the Blue portal as a Bird (to stop falling immediately).
Level 15 (Final Boss: The Disco Wizard)
The Challenge: The ultimate showdown. The Wizard uses lasers and spotlights.
Solution:
Phase 1: Avoid the spotlight! If the light hits Om Nom, the Wizard zaps him. Stay in the shadows using Mouse Form.
Phase 2: Reflection. The Wizard shoots a laser at you. Use a mirror (or a reflective candy coating found in the level) to bounce the laser back at him.
Phase 3: Victory. When he is stunned, use Bird Form to drop the candy into Om Nom's mouth.
Congratulations!
If you have followed these guides, you should now have a 3-Star Rating across the board!
