There are two. Classic mode keeps going until there's no space left on the board for one of the three shapes. Level-based mode gives you objectives to complete, such as collecting pigs, and boosters to help you through.

No, blocks can't be rotated. You can, however, place them anywhere on the grid and in whatever order you want, so the planning is about where each shape goes rather than how it's turned.

Fill a row or column with no gaps and it disappears, earning you points. The more rows you destroy at once, the more points you get, so lining up several clears together pays off.
